Personal Statement
As an athlete, I strive daily to be better than I was yesterday. I strive for improvements in athletic ability such as strength, speed, and endurance, but I first strive to better myself. For me, what comes first in athletics is to be the person God wants me to be. To respect and support my coaches and teammates, to be a helping hand, a person who always has your back, and to be willing to set aside my pride and give God the glory. It's the simple things like showing up with a good attitude that set me apart as an athlete. After that, it comes down to putting in the work and being willing to lay it all on the line every day. If you want to be the best, you have to be willing to do what others won't.
