Personal Statement
My name is Austin Allen, and I am deeply passionate about track and academics. Throughout my high school career, I have pushed myself to be the most diligent and hardworking competitor. I take everything from lectures to practices seriously, and work at them as hard as I can. Sports have always been a release from reality, a chance for me to help prove my abilities for people, and track allows that opportunity the most. Nothing is more satisfying than being the fastest and strongest runner on the track. I started my love for track in 7th grade, and it has since grown to be my obsession. I remember watching Olympic reruns, analyzing how they jumped over hurdles before my meet the next morning. It pains me to think that my track career would end in high school, that's why I want to run in college. My family has supported me tremendously for my athletics, often driving hours away to watch me run for only a few seconds. My father would often act like the coach off the field, which looking back made me very annoyed, but I thank for always giving his full devotion to my success. Other than the fact that I pride myself in education, college athletics would be the "icing on the cake." I know that I would represent my college academically and athletically better than anyone else. In college I plan on taking environmental science, astronomy, or architecture and having a successful future. I know that athletics, and the right college, can help me achieve that.
