Erik Brown '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Erik Brown. I go to Fitch High School in Groton, Connecticut. I am approximately six feet and one inch tall, and weigh 135 pounds. I come from a single-income family; my father is currently a 23 year, active duty United States Navy Senior Chief and my mother is a full time college student working towards her Bachelor Degree in teaching. I am working on earning my Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America. My interests are political science and history, and I would like to pursue a career in law. I have been running since the spring of 2006, when I was in the sixth grade. When I was younger, I tried many different sports, including soccer and football. I did track in the spring of my sixth grade year on a whim, and ended up falling in love with running. The following fall I joined my middle school cross country team, and I have not looked back since. I have wanted to run at the collegiate level for as long as I have done cross country, and think that I would make a great addition to your team. I always put 110% effort into everything that I do, and I was a team co-captain this past cross country season. I am always looking for ways to improve my running. I am willing to look into various types of school, as well as athletic divisions. I will contact any school that shows an interest in me. My goal in collegiate running is to make a difference for the team, and help it be the best that it can be.
