My name is Sam Tarrant, and I take the title of student athlete very seriously. I work as hard in the classroom as I do on the field, and take great pride in both. Self-improvement is what keeps me motivated, whether that is an improved grade or distance. I would make a great fit on a collegiate level team because I value learning from my teammates, as well as helping them improve. A well-oiled machine works only if every piece functions to the best of its ability. 

I have gone almost my entire javelin career without javelin-specific coaching. My school's group of javelin throwers watch film and critique each other to improve.
