My name is Damen Ward and I would like to share details and facts about myself to you. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I attended two middle schools; Evangelical Christian Academy transferred and graduated from St. Margaret of Scotland. I was unsure about how my high school life would go and school wasn’t really my forte. Until I got to Leo, I was given all honors classes and I started running Track and Cross Country. My freshman year I passed with all honors classes and a GPA of 4.0. I also performed very well in sports, running on varsity during my first year. I stood out so well that my coach saw me as a good fit for the captain of the Cross Country team in my sophomore year. We made it to sectionals my sophomore year but came up short but I was still proud of my team for making it that far. Also with maintaining good performance in sports I always did my best work in the classroom. Passed my sophomore year with honors classes and a GPA of 4.0 once again. In my junior year, I was made captain of the Track team. And yet again passed with a 4.5 GPA.
I have been accepted into different extracurricular activities such as; National Honors Society, Choir, and the Alpha Phi Alpha Mentoring program. I would like to think of myself as very innovative, a person with a good work ethic, dependable, determined, and very self-less. I am always willing to help others who need it if I know that I am stable myself. I have also been a lead singer in the world-renowned Leo choir, I have led the choir on a few occasions when the choir director could not make it. I am at as many volunteering events as possible all year round. I am always asked for services by teachers, staff, and administration, if there is ever a task that needs to be completed I will do my best to complete as much of it as possible as soon as possible.
