Personal Statement
I am a freshmen at Rochester Community High School in Rochester, Indiana. I ran track throughout the entirety of my middle school career, but didn't participate in cross country until my 8th grade year. I fell in love with the sport instantly. Through hard work and dedication, I achieved a modest PR of 11:09 and finished 4th at the conference meet, a fairly successful rookie season. This past summer I made sure I was prepared for the upcoming cross season, joining a club track team and grinding every day, ending the summer by running over 350 miles. That hard work and dedication allowed me to step in and make a huge impact on my team by running a 17:24 5k and becoming the 3rd fastest freshmen in school history. I look forward to putting in the hard work and hours of training this track season to achieve my goal of qualifying for state as a freshmen. The qualities I posses are extremely rare, I love the challenge and the competition, it's what I live for. There's nothing like the final stretch, a pure guts race at this point, and you have to catch the competitor ahead of you, no one has the guts I do. It is a dream of mine to be able to put in as much work as I do now and even more for a D1 school, and to be able to be a focal point in a college program. Running is my life and passion and I am willing to sacrifice and put in the long hard hours it will take to run for a successful program.
