Personal Statement

Over the years, I’ve competed in many different sports including Football, swimming, basketball, baseball and golf.  Then, in 7th grade, I ran track for the first time and then everything fell into place after that.  I fell in love with the sport and the opportunities my abilities gave me.  Since the first day, my work ethic and natural talent put me at the top of my coaches list as a top runner and contributor to the team.  As a result, I was one of only a few freshman to make the Varsity Team.  By the end of my freshman year, I was part of the 4x200MR that set the school record, won the Regional Meet and qualified for the Michigan D1 State Finals.  As each year comes, my dedication and love for the sport only grows.

Even with all the success early on, I’ve grown and overcome so much more through my failures.  Coming into spring my Sophomore year, I had very hefty expectations of myself, but could not meet them.  However, through very hard work, training and dedication, I had an excellent turn around my Junior year where I set new PRs in the 400M and 800M.  Additionally, as part of the 4x200MR, I set a new school record, won the League and Regional Meets and then finished 2nd at the Michigan D1 State Finals.  The other part of my push for college athletics is the academic side.  I am a student athlete and I do take my class work very seriously.  My GPA after three years is sitting at a solid 3.39.  In the final year of high school, I plan on raising that through hard work and focus.

I truly believe that my work ethic, dedication and love for track would make me an excellent addition to any college track team.  I have a proven track performance record and have no doubt that I have much more room to improve through hard work and training.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
