My running journey started way back in the 7th grade, I was an abnormally small kid, not typically built for contact sports. However, coaches and gym teachers noticed my endurance and speed which led to them suggesting cross country and track. Up until that point, I was focused on soccer. That first year of cross country was a surprise to me and many others, I had no idea of the possibilities that were in store more me. That year is what made me fall in love with the sport, the wind in my hair made me feel at home.
My high school career has had its ups and downs, at the beginning I was a freshman breaking records and battling back from injuries. Those injuries have only built me up and strengthened who I am. My most recent season of cross, my junior year, was my most solid and consistent year. I'm hoping to build off of the success for this upcoming track season.
Cross and track for me are all about the community and bond you make with the people around you. For me personally, I hadn't found a group of people I fit in with, running helped me find that missing piece. Lastly, I hope you can see the hard work and dedication in me and are able to see how those characteristics also transfer into the classroom environment. I'll give ya everything I got coach.
