My name is Bernard Ray and according to my parents, “I have had a fondness for running” the majority of my life. To start, I began running on a track team at the age of 7 for the Supersonic Track Club and later ran for my middle school. Through middle school and part of high school, I was playing soccer and running track simultaneously but ultimately dedicated myself to track. Running high school varsity track since a freshman, I have kept my GPA high while also training on the club level. While on my high school team, I have served as a leader and mentor to some of the younger team members. I consider myself trainable and open to suggestions to further my growth as a person and an athlete.
In terms of goals, I would like to run on a college level running the 800m and 1600m. At the end of my high school career, I aspire to run 1:54 in the 800m and 4:15 in the 1600m. I also aspire to obtain a deeper love for the sport while gaining more knowledge both academically and athletically.
