Personal Statement
My name is Zach Hazelwood. I am currently a junior at Wheatmore High School in Trinity North Carolina. I participate in cross country and track running the 5k, 1600, and 3200. My goals for college are to continue running and improving my times and to pursue a career in a science field. I began running in 9th grade and since then I have dropped 7 minutes from my 5k, 4 minutes from my 3200, and 50 seconds from my 1600. I am hardworking, dependable, and coachable as I almost never miss practice and try my best to do everything my coach recommends I do. I take joy in encouraging my teammates to get better and keep pushing to beat their competitors. In school I have taken many honors and AP classes which has put my GPA to 4.526.
