Track has imparted invaluable lessons that extend far beyond the sport itself. The hard work, dedication, and commitment to a cause greater than myself have profoundly shaped my personal growth. Despite any obstacles, I have devoted myself to reaching the highest level of my potential within any endeavor I find myself.
My journey in athletics is both unique and transformative. From a young age, I enjoyed various sports, including flag football, basketball, and track. However, my life took a challenging turn when I was diagnosed with PANDAS in sixth grade. This rare medical condition sidelined me from both school and sports for several years. Despite these setbacks, I persevered and made my return to track during my sophomore year, ultimately becoming a pivotal member of the team in my junior year.
Throughout that year, I played an integral role in the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 relay teams, as well as competing in the open 200 and 400 meters. I proudly hold school records in the 4x100, 4x200, and Sprint Medley. My 4x200 relay team placed fifth at the 6A state championship, and I qualified for the Meet of Champions, where our Sprint Medley team clinched first place. In the summer of 2024, I began my journey in club track with USATF, where I became the Oklahoma State Champion in the 400 meters with a time of 49.88, also qualifying for the USATF Junior Olympics in College Station, Texas.
Beyond athletics, I am actively involved in SPUD (Students Performing Unselfish Deeds), where I help raise funds for various charities, serve the community in a multitude of ways and collaborate with my peers for the betterment of the program. I also strive to excel academically, maintaining a strong GPA and sharp work ethic.
I recognize that I have only begun to tap into my athletic potential, and I am eager to continue learning and working hard at the collegiate level. My aspirations include not only personal improvement and striving for the Olympic level but also discovering my professional passion during my studies. Ultimately, I aim to make my family proud and serve as a role model for those around me.
