Holden Jelen '24 Recruiting Profile

I am strongly interested in running track at the collegiate level.  I have been running track and cross country since seventh grade and have developed a deep love of competitive running.   I am a competitive and hard working mid-distance track runner.  I have continuously improved my times, and give every event my best effort.  My coach has great faith and confidence that l will give my all, and as a result, he has provided me with great opportunities to run in various individual and relay events.  I am a good teammate that leads by example and encourages my teammates.  I fully believe that the work that I put in at practice and in the off season prepares me for success, and therefore, I can always be counted on to put in a good workout at every practice with a positive attitude.  I have earned the respect of my competitors and my teammates.  I was selected as the Most Improved Varsity Boys track athlete my sophomore year, and I was the lead starter on my 4x800m relay team that qualified for the state track meet.   I have also been running at a varsity level in cross country since 8th grade, and have served as my team's captain for the past two years.  I qualified for the state cross country meet my sophomore year.  I would like to continue to improve as a runner at the collegiate level, and am confident that I will be a positive asset to a college track team from an athletic and academic standpoint.
