Hello, my name is Theodore "Theo" Zaharewicz and I want to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I play at Amity Regional High School and at Mizuno East Volleyball Club in Connecticut. I started playing volleyball in my freshman year at Amity and fell in love with the game. In my sophomore year, I played my first club season at Elevation Volleyball Academy; competing with only five players, we weren't the best team. However, I learned so much about the game from playing there and it transferred to my school season where I started varsity every game. I also believe that my school season last year not only made me learn more about me as a player and about my potential, but also as a person. In my school season, I gained more and more confidence as the season went on. I started the season excited with maybe three kills a game but ended the season with an 18 kill game and a 27 kill game. This club season, 2019-2020, I played my first season with Mizuno East (MEVBC) on the 17-1s team. Once again, I learned so much more about the game. It was also an adjustment because I went from a primarily outside hitter and opposite hitter, to playing middle almost every match. Our club team played very well and claimed a bid to nationals this year, which I hope doesn't get cancelled due to COVID-19, much like our school season. Academics wise, I don't take any honors or AP classes. However, at this time, I have had first honors or second honors in nine out of the ten school quarters (six times first honors, three times second honors). I do take my academics seriously and want to get into a good college. I have always loved graphic design and is my number one choice for majoring in(Instagram: @tz.graphics328). During this quarantine, I've not only been playing volleyball to improve, but have been working hard to get stronger and to improve my vertical jump; I can see the results and I feel like I'm jumping higher (I measured at home on my basketball hoop, so it might be off). Finally, I think that I am a good candidate for your team because I always want to get better, always listen to any coach, and will work to get better. For this club and school season (2020-21), I’m looking to expand my skills by becoming a setter. I feel like if I can become a good setter and middle, I could help any team compete.
