Personal Statement
My life has been dedicated to competitiveness, whether it's a board game or an intense match of Spikeball, I pride myself on putting maximum effort into all activities. This can be said especially true in terms of volleyball. I started playing in the 8th grade on a whim with my friend and was the captain of the team that year. I have grown to love the sport more each and every day that I play it, and as I continue to progress in my knowledge of the sport, I gain all the more respect for its uniqueness and fun it brings to me.
I have made more friends playing volleyball than in any other aspect of my life. Through my varsity team since freshman year, my travel team at Ocean Bay Volleyball which started at age 15, and going to my local park to play beach volleyball. I truly believe it's one of the best sports at bringing people together.
Due to my love of competitiveness, it's only natural that I pride myself on working hard in school and on my extracurricular activities. I'm a member of National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, and the vice president of the B.E.S.T. club in which I go to Bethune Elementary and tutor their students. I have also volunteered over 75 hours at Big Dog Ranch and Rescue Center, in which I walk dogs and clean the halls where people come to adopt.
My academic plans are to major in Physics and minor in Mathematics. I would like to work for a research college or a private tech business in the future, as I have always been interested in the STEM field.
