I started playing volleyball in 7th grade when my junior high started a offering it as a sport. In 8th grade, I was a starter and played both front row and back row. Our team won every match going 15-0 and we did not lose a single set. That year, we won the conference championship. I have played both baseball and ice hockey at a competitive level for many years and because of the conflicting schedules, I was unable to play club volleyball. In 2019, I was able to play in a shortened Winter League at Sports Performance Club to see what it would be like playing club. After playing at this competitive level, I realized my love for the sport and this fall, I have chosen to play club volleyball. During my freshman season, I was the co-captain of the team, voted MVP and broke the freshman school record for amount of kills in a season. Our team had a perfect undefeated season going 21-0 and we won the two tournaments we entered winning all 9 matches. I was fortunate to be invited to play in many of the Junior Varsity tournaments and practiced with the JV and Varsity team everyday after finishing the freshman practice. I have really just started my volleyball career and I know I have many areas that I will be able to grow and develop once I play a full club season. I know that with hard work and dedication and with my experience in other sports, that I will only get better and hopefully reach my full potential. I am a dedicated student, I have a good work ethic and I take pride in my success. I hope I am a great fit for your volleyball program!
