Personal Statement

Since I started playing volleyball in the seventh grade, volleyball has played a significant role in my life, and each year my dedication to the sport has been stronger. I was certain that I wanted to play volleyball in high school. I attended a week-long intense volleyball camp that summer in order to better prepare myself, and as a result, my skills significantly improved. I attended each open gym and beach volleyball game the varsity squad offered back at my house. I wanted to demonstrate that I could compete at the high school level. I was given the opportunity to play varsity volleyball the next school year as a result of my efforts.I have improved as a volleyball player during the past three years that I have been a member of our team.

Along with improving as a volleyball player, I also improved as a leader.Volleyball helps me to forget about my demanding academic schedule. My other interests, though, when I'm not playing, are in mathematics and the sciences. My career interest is in medicine, especially in the sciences. I consistently took two sciences during my previous academic years, including BioMedical and PLTW Human Body Systems at the college level. These programs broadened my perspective on medicine and stoked a deeper level of curiosity. I'm looking for the perfect college where I can take my passion for the medical industry and for volleyball to a new level.

A message from my Coach:

Ms. Marlene Valadez Assistant Varsity Coach [email protected]

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Andrew Ciesinski, a dedicated and exceptional athlete who has been a key member of the Boys' Varsity Volleyball team at Willowbrook High School for the past three years. As Andrew's coach and mentor during this time, I have had the privilege of witnessing his remarkable growth, both as an athlete and as a leader.

Andrew served as our starting middle hitter, consistently demonstrating an unwavering commitment to excellence on and off the court. His work ethic is nothing short of inspiring. Through tireless dedication to his craft, Andrew has not only improved his individual skills but has also set a high standard for his teammates. His relentless pursuit of improvement has made a significant impact on the team's performance and cohesion.

What sets Andrew apart is his exceptional leadership abilities. He was chosen to captain the team for two consecutive years, a testament to his natural ability to inspire and guide his peers. Andrew's leadership extends beyond the game; he excels in building meaningful relationships with his fellow teammates and underclass players. His approachable demeanor, genuine care for others, and willingness to offer guidance have fostered a positive team environment where every member feels valued and supported.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Andrew's character shines brightly. His integrity, humility, and resilience are qualities that make him not only an exceptional athlete but also an outstanding young individual. Andrew consistently demonstrates sportsmanship and a willingness to learn from challenges, further exemplifying his dedication to personal growth.

Without reservation, I wholeheartedly recommend Andrew Ciesinski. His passion for the sport, his commitment to his team, and his leadership skills make him an ideal candidate for any endeavor he chooses to pursue. I am confident that Andrew will continue to excel and positively impact any team or community he becomes a part of.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or require additional information. I am confident that Andrew Ciesinski has a bright future ahead, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with him.

To Whom It May Concern,

It is my distinct pleasure to be writing to you on behalf of Andrew J. Ciesinski. As the head men’s volleyball coach here at Willowbrook I have had the opportunity to build a close relationship with Andrew. I have worked with Andrew for the past four years and it has been a honor to watch him grow as an athlete and individual. Andrew has been a vision of hard work and dedication throughout his years in our program. It is quite obvious that he exemplifies the traits that will make him successful in all that he does in the future.

At Willowbrook, Andrew has taken an active leadership role in our athletic programs. This year will be Andrew’s fourth year as part of the Willowbrook men’s volleyball program. He has spent three of those years on the varsity team as our starting middle blocker. As a junior and senior, Andrew was voted a team captain by his peers. As a captain, Andrew is a role model to his teammates and is highly relied upon by his younger peers for guidance and knowledge. His leadership, skill on the court, and his relationship with his teammates has been instrumental in the growing success of our program. He is extremely punctual and dedicated to his work and preparation for practices, workouts, and matches. This year, Andrew is also playing for the Pipeline Volleyball Club as a middle blocker for the 18U national team. Andrew has also been a four-year member of the Willowbrook basketball program. His dedication to athletics and his teammates is one of those special characteristics that sets Andrew apart from other student-athletes.

Despite his rigorous athletic schedule, Andrew still makes time to challenge himself academically. Next year Andrew plans to major in Diagnostic Medical Radiology and Sonography. In preparation for this major, Andrew has doubled up his science classes every year that he has been in high school.

Besides his responsibility to academics and athletics, Andrew has also dedicated much of his time to others around him. He has been a four-year member of the Blue Crew Spirit Committee and also our school’s Best Buddy Program. Andrew has also volunteered at our Villa Park VFW Hall.

It is of my recommendation that Andrew displays qualities that will guarantee success. He exceeds all expectations in his academics and athletics. He has been and continues to be highly lauded by his peers and staff here at Willowbrook. His hard work inside the classroom shows his dedication to academic success; and his work outside the classroom shows his ability to be a positive role model, leader, and a successful young adult.

Sincerely,

Ryan J. Bazon
