I love sports and have been playing sports all my life. I have played baseball competitively since I was 9 years old, and started playing volleyball at the age of 12. I have spent countless hours training and working on my skills, for both baseball and volleyball. I played baseball up through my freshman year of high school and was planning on playing in college until this year. I realized how much I love playing volleyball and now have transitioned to focus all my time and effort in training for volleyball with a new dream of playing in college. During the winter, I play indoor volleyball for South Jersey Volleyball Club where I am a starter. I excel at blocking, setting, passing, and have a high volleyball IQ. I am now the captain of the boys volleyball team at my high school. Through my experience and strong knowledge of the game, during matches I am able to give direction to novice teammates to help keep them organized and play our best game.
I am proud of my academic achievements as a student and I aim to be the best in everything that I do. My 3.5 non-weighted GPA is evidence of my dedication and effort. I am committed to my academics and continually look for ways to learn new things and improve my study skills. I have a strong sense of responsibility and am always prepared to put in the time and energy required to succeed. Additionally, I approach my academic endeavors with curiosity and enthusiasm, which has helped me do well in my coursework and gain a thorough understanding of the subjects that I find interesting.
In addition to my athletics and academics, I am also actively engaged with my church and the local volleyball community. I volunteer at my church by helping with vacation bible school, a summer program for PreK-6th graders, and have gone on several mission trips- one to Virginia and another to West Virginia. For the past two years, I have helped as an assistant coach in the local girls beach volleyball clinic teaching girls, grades 5-9, to play volleyball.
I am very excited about my journey to become a collegiate volleyball player. I hope to work with a coach who not only has the knowledge to teach the game, but also cares about their players on a personal level. In addition, I am excited to be part of a team whose players have the same passion for the game that I do.
