I have played on travel baseball, basketball, and soccer teams before finding my passion in volleyball. I started playing volleyball in the park during the pandemic almost every day. It was something I could look forward to when the world was upside down. Now, I am the team captain of my club team and a starting player on my high school team. My high school team was undefeated during the regular season last year and as a result, moved up to a higher division this school year. I also manage the high school girls’ varsity volleyball team that won the New York City Public School Athletic League championship this season!
I've always been very competitive and want to win. I carry that competitive nature on and off the court whether it's a playoff game or a group project for school. I don’t shy away from the ball during big moments when the game is close. As the captain of my club team, I connect with my teammates to keep us motivated and celebrate our wins. I always give one hundred percent effort and hold myself accountable as an athlete and a student.
As someone who has been a student-athlete most of my life, time management is an important skill that I learned early on. Even when my schoolwork is challenging, I push through and persevere. I am interested in studying business and finance in college. I would also like to play volleyball at a collegiate level.
