I believe I will make a good candidate for a volleyball team because of my leadership skills and work ethic. I have been captain each of my 3 years of playing volleyball. I work to keep attitudes positive, motivate my teammates, and remind them of the image we want our team to project. I am early to every practice, take private lessons, schedule extra practices with teammates, and always give my best. My club has awarded me with a character award the past two years for representing our club's values.
I pick up skills quickly. I have good spatial awareness, and a good understanding of positions and rotations. I help my teammates know where they should be on the court, and am also aware of where they are when I am setting.
I'm patient, friendly, and cooperative. Though I’m a perfectionist, I’m able to shake off mistakes. I'm good at listening to others' opinions and thoughts, and help them not be so hard on themselves.
My goal in college is to become proficient in Japanese, and study sports management or computer science. I enjoy working with others at school and being challenged, and it’s important to me that I attend a school with strong academics.
I love playing volleyball, and look forward to playing in college!
