Hello, I am Colin Wright, I am a Freshman at Junipero Serra high school. I have been playing water polo for 5 years. I have played sports all my life like basketball, swimming, and baseball. I play club water polo for Stanford water polo club and Varsity water polo for high school. I am a versatile player mostly playing as a driver and utility. I pride myself on my shooting, defense, and ability to get open, and player IQ.
A great coach advised me to step up as a leader and a team captain. I thrive on feedback and understand that it is the key to growth as an athlete, both physically and mentally. I take in feedback, figure out how to put it into action steps, and realize I can be a better leader for the team. Receiving coach feedback--either positive or negative is the quality of which I am most proud.
In addition, I aspire to play water polo at the collegiate level. I have always strived for improvement. This means putting in the work and effort. I am in the gym 3 days or more every week working to build strength, swimming to stay in shape, and playing water polo year round. I also work in the classroom maintaining a 4.0 GPA and I hope to pursue a business pathway in college.
Water Polo has allowed me to grow in ways I could not imagine. I am extremely excited to see what the future holds in store.
