I started waterpolo in middle school, then joined the Varsity men’s team at Marin Catholic High School in 2021. I grew enormously both physically and mentally from my time on the Marin Catholic team and then at Sleepy Hollow Aquatics (SHAQ). I am currently in year two on the Men's Terra Linda High School Varsity Waterpolo. Waterpolo has taught me that when you stay committed to something, the hard work pays off. I think the best part of waterpolo is the dedication to yourself, your coach, and your teammates that it requires. This translates into hard work and team work both in and out of the water. I have learned to balance my time better due to the time commitment of waterpolo, achieving high grades by staying focused on academics between workouts and games. I was also motivated to become a certified lifeguard this year. My experience with waterpolo has helped me be a better lifeguard, as there are team trainings and rescue exercises that require quick thinking and teamwork. I take my training in both waterpolo and lifeguarding seriously, and have become a stronger and healthier person. I am involved with my community, contributing in a positive way to help keep the pool/community center safe for all. I am confident the skills learned while balancing waterpolo and academics will guide me in my future college experience. I love learning, and I am competitive academically as well as in sports. I would love to be at a college that meets both my academic and sports needs.
