Alana Loyd '21 Recruiting Profile

The only place I feel completely fearless is on the mound. All of my insecurities melt away when I step into the circle. It is my comfort zone. I have played other sports, but none compare to softball. That is all I play now. I played school ball my first year eligible (7th grade). I made both Varsity and Junior Varsity for Cherokee County High School. Unfortunately, AHSAA has an outside participation rule that does not allow me to play travel ball during school ball. That isn't enough - I want to play more. So, I only play travel ball now with RDA Evolution 14U Luke Andrews. I am a leader on my team. Everyone trusts me and knows how to play defensively depending upon which pitch I throw. My deepest desire is to take it to the next level: College! I want to go into the medical field and would love to play my passion during my studies. My biggest strength in softball is my pitches. I have been complemented on my spin and movement of the ball at various camps thanks to Bill Fowler, my pitching coach. Thanks to Rome Diamond Academy, I can throw harder, run faster, and hit farther. I have recently hit my second home run over center field in 14U. Another strength I have is, I’m coachable, I have played every position except catcher.  I am also an active member of Beta Club, Math & Science Club, and our Youth Group at Grace Pointe Church of God.
