I have a stellar work ethic along with a positive attitude as a softball player. I am currently 5’4”and 125 lbs with my primary positions being a right handed “ball movement” pitcher and utility player. I may not have the common height as an elite softball pitcher but where I lack in inches and insane speed, I make up for in ball movement in the countless batted outs. I have been playing this sport since the age of 6 yrs old in a small town little league on the outskirts of Sacramento, CA before moving to the competitive travel ball world at the age of 11 yrs old. I am truly dedicated to this sport and I know the game of softball. My most important accomplishments to date are leading and supporting my team in the circle and infield for multiple national qualifiers and tournament wins as well as making the varsity softball team at my high school as a 14 year old freshmen all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA for my Freshmen, Sophmore and Junior year of high shcool.
I am goal driven and knowing that I'm capable of playing softball in college makes me more passionate for this sport. I also sought out and made the high school volleyball JV team to start off my freshmen year to continue my development of different muscle groups and movement patterns so that I may grow as an overall athlete. I learned that playing another sport out of my comfort zone can be a humbling experience. It taught me that what I can offer to any team is peer encouragement along with the promise to always work hard and never give up. I am the first to make sure I hustle out to the field and am the last to leave for cleanup duties.
When it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, my options are not limited. I mainly am looking at west coast states (Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, California, etc.) but I am very open to going anywhere. I am open minded about colleges and hope to just find a college that fits me best for my education and athletic ability. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter about the size or location; if I can receive a good education and play softball I will be a happy camper. My top two choices for a major as of right now is either Nursing or Psychology. However, as I gain more life experiences, my major may change.
My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing the sport I love at a high competition level. It doesn’t get much better than that! Another goal of mine is to make an impact on the team and to mentor peers and lower level classmates making their way up the ranks. I have had some great coaches, mentors and team mates along the way and I would like to continue to do the same for others.
