My name is Mia De La Fuente and I play for Athletics Mercado Lee-Walker/Torres 18u. I will be graduating from Aquinas High School in 2025. I play catcher, 3rd, 2nd and 1st but I feel most at home when I am behind the plate. When I’m catching it’s as if I’m in control and I like that sense of power I hold to help my pitcher and to have their trust. When in the classroom I am the type to do the extra work. If there’s an assignment that needs to be done, I will do it when it’s assigned and not wait till the last minute. Because of this, I have been able to manage a 4.0 since the start of middle school in which I currently carry a 4.57.My whole life I've always felt like I have to be the best at everything I do, not to impress my parents or my friends but for me. Ever since I was a little girl, I've never wanted to settle for anything that didn’t fulfill my desire. Now I know that I can’t always receive what I want but I believe that if I work hard enough, I will reach that goal. My goal is to play at the most competitive level possible for me and to do that I work on something every day, starting from hitting to something as simple as giving myself short hops but at the end of the day, I took the obligation to do something to help benefit me. I feel that if you give me the chance I will meet or even surpass your expectations or I will take in your corrections and apply them to what I do.
