Personal Statement
Although I have grown up in a very sport oriented family, as my grandfather being a president and important figure in a baseball league here in the san fernando valley, I was never forced to play the game and was able to find my passion for the sport on my own. I realized I was interested in the ball game at an early age and have been playing since. I have found love for the sport because there is so many different aspects that i enjoy such as the competition, the need to be strategic and last but not least the feeling of love and belonging that a team can provide, almost like a second family. I have learned that I persevere during challenging occasions and not only do I get better with the challenges but I have learned to lead when needed. My educational goals include finishing high school and getting a degree in sports medicine, a field in which I am very intrigued by. Reason being I would be able to provide help and knowledge to athletes of all ages about the medical side of sports. My first high school year I was looked at as a threat to fellow softball players at my high school. It was hard for me to feel the belonging that I once felt with previous teams I played for. they looked down upon me, when I made a mistake they would not help or correct me but laugh and joke about it with one another. I pushed through the and although I have yet to be respected by my fellow softball teammates, I finished with a athletic award corresponding with my success in my education as well as an MVP award.
