Personal Statement
Softball is my passion, but it is so much more than that. The most rewarding part is connecting with new people and building relationships that last a lifetime. It’s the small moments where your coach gives you a pat on the back or you sprint to your teammates’ side to give her the tightest hug... it is these moments that made me fall in love with the game. But I do not love softball so selfishly. I believe that I can use softball to do good for others by coaching underprivileged children in my neighborhood and sharing my knowledge with the new generation of ball players. I am willing to go to any lengths and try anything new to play on the field, to give it everything I can possibly give. In college, I hope to gain a further understanding of the game as a whole, but I also hope to positively grow as a compassionate yet determined human being. I have pushed myself when no one believed in me and I will be the first person in my family to attend college. With that opportunity, I will never take it for granted. I believe that the game must be respected at all times, on and off the field. Respect and determination are my keys.
