Maycie Barrett '23 Recruiting Profile

The first time I stepped onto a softball field at the age of 9 I would never have begun to imagine about how much of an impact this game has had on my life. At first I didn't want to be a pitcher, I wanted to play first base, but that all changed when, in my second season, my team was in desperate need of a pitcher. So I volunteered.  The second I learned to throw a strike I knew there was no way I could turn back. My name is Maycie Barrett and when I am on the field all of my outside problems disappear. No matter if I am practicing by myself, with my team, or in a game, when I put my cleats on and feel my glove or bat in my hand, I feel at home. When I am not on the softball field or another sporting event I love to go to the lake, hang out with my friends and family and pursue my other passion, photography. I know that my travel softball team and I have the skills to take our team far in all of our tournaments and I am looking forward to it this summer!
