Emily Gonzalez '22 Recruiting Profile

My goal as a softball player is to be the best I can be and be the best teammate for my team in order to be competitive and create the best team environment possible.  I want to be better, stronger and learn to play smarter every  day.  I don't settle for less and I always push myself outside my comfort zone.   I love sports as it's been a part of my life since a very young girl and have had the chance to be a part of many different sports like soccer, volleyball and even karate, but my passion is softball! Throughout my years of playing sports  I've learned that the most challenging thing is knowing how to balance time between school and sports, but I love the challenge and it pushes me to test my limits to be the best. 

My parents have always encouraged me and supported me to play sports, but they have also taught me that school and an education is priority.  Took me a long time to understand their point of view, but I understand it now which is why I push myself to excel in my studies before excelling on the field.  I have always been the type of person that likes to learn new things as I love to experience new beginnings and try new challenging things.   I'm always looking for that next thing that will push me to the next level.   As an example I self taught myself how to play guitar by just watching videos online.  I love music and it's my second passion after sports so I put this challenge to myself to learn to play the guitar and even though I am far from starting a career at it, I got to say I can play a couple of tunes very well!  Other hobbies of mine are  photography and videography and I also love working with animals. 

I know how important the decision to choose the right college for me will be,  but in conclusion what I am looking for is to have the opportunity to be a part of a great team and have amazing teammates around me that I can continue to grow with and help me be the best person I can be.  A college that will guide me to be the young adult I aspire to be one day by providing me a great education and be surrounded by amazing people.  I'm excited for that day to come!
