Personal Statement

My Softball story!

Ever since I started playing softball in 6th grade I’ve dedicated my all to it. I fell in love with the game, the hours spent hitting, and the hundreds of throws I’ve made. Eventually I went from barely being able to swing the bat, to playing on my first travel team. Although I became a better player, softball did not get easier; on the contrary, as pitchers improved, hitting got harder, and as hitters got better, fielding became more difficult. This didn’t dissuade me and I continued to spend my time improving my skills. Coaches helped me learn and taught me not only how to be a good player, but how to be a good person. Despite all the rough moments and tough games, I loved every minute of it. Now I spend my time loving every minute of 18u travel ball and learning all that I can. I aspire to play at the college level, and I believe that I deserve the shot to play because I have, and will continue, to devote my time to softball and do whatever it takes to become the best player I can be. I want my softball journey to continue past travel ball and I know that given the opportunity to play in college, I would use my time to the fullest and become the best player I could be. I will enjoy the time with my teammates, learn as much as I can from my coaches, and appreciate the rare opportunity to live out my dreams. I know that one day I won’t be able to play softball anymore, but as long as I can, I will play it with passion and joy, because one day I want to be able to look back and think of the great times I spent loving the game.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
