Softball has always been a part of my life. It's something I continuously strive to become the best at. I always hustle and give 100% of my effort into every drill, whether it's technical or more general. The little things count. That's why I practice everyday, even when I don't have practice. I believe that when you don't put in the effort or work on an "off day," somebody else is. So, on top of practicing with my travel team and trainers, I put in individual work on my days off and workout every day.
My drive to play softball at the highest level I personally can compete at directly correlates with my school work. I have the same drive and determination to get my work done and compete academically with my peers. I am a competitive person, so I am always finding a quicker and better way to do something. When I don't understand something new I learn in school, I ask for help and work over and over on that one thing until I get it. That same attitude I have about school translates to when I'm on the diamond.
I believe forming relationships with my teammates, peers, and superiors(teachers/coaches) is extremely important to my success and the success of others around me. Knowing who you are working with and forming a bond helps immensely, no matter the situation. Communication is key to success. I try to have a relationship with anyone I work with, even if I don't know them very well. Softball is a team sport. A team that talks and shares a bond is proven to do better than a team that doesn't. Thats why I believe forming relationships is so important.
My goal for softball is to play at the collegiate level NCAA DIII and am open to playing DII. I don't doubt that I can compete at the DI level. I am a high level athlete with a drive that's unlike others. I want to play at the level of DIII because it is the best fit for me. It offers the most flexibility and I can better balance my athletics and academics. DIII still also offers play at a competitive level, the level I would like to compete at. My academic goal is to go to the best school possible. I want to go to a selective school because I am an academically strong student. I am also very interested in STEM careers, so that has a major influence on where I would like to go.
Softball is a huge part of my life and I want to take it with me as far as I can. I want to be the best I can be until I can't. Playing in college has always been a dream of mine and I hope to one day fulfill that dream.
