Getting third in the Illinois state tournament my sophomore year has defiantly the biggest highlight of my high school career thus far. I felt like I grew a lot as a leader, team mate, and as a person when we lost a 17 inning game in the semi-finals. It was a tough loss for our team, because we worked so hard to get us where we were. My freshman year we lost super-sectionals by one run, being and freshman and never attending the state tournament as a player I didn't realize how close we were to something great.
Being fortunate enough to play in the state tournament as a sophomore being the starting catcher, I will never forget all the different feelings I had that weekend. Also being named an All-Conference, All- South, and All- State catcher my Sophomore year, it makes it even more special. I have been involved in softball ever since I was eligible for t-ball. I was influenced a lot by my parents and my sister, who is 3 years older than me. Playing softball has opened many doors for me as a leader. Softball has allowed me to value commitment, hard work, and sacrifice. Without any of these things my sophomore year we wouldn't have made it to state. I am looking for a program that fits me athletically, but also academically. I believe that I not only have the skill to play at the college level, I also have the work ethic, character, and leadership skills. Being an FFA (Future Farmers of America) member my whole high school career as well as, a chapter officer and section 24 officer. I have obtained a lot of leadership skills that I wouldn't have been able to obtain any other way.
