Ever since I was a kid growing up in Chicago, Illinois it has always my dream to play college softball. I watched my two older sister play softball until I was finally able to hold a bat. I instantly fell in love with the sport. Anytime they had practices I always went with and got to practice with them because my dad was their coach. I started playing travel softball when I was 6 years old on a 10 u team. I started taking it very seriously when I was 10. I put in the work and was outside hitting on a tee almost everyday, whether it was rain or shine, I was there practicing. When I turned 15 I was able to get a gym membership which helped me with strength training and improving my cardio and agility. When I was 11 years old I started filling in and playing up up with my sister‘s 16 u team when they were short players. I caught one of the games, hit a double, and won the mvp of that game. Even though that is a really good memory, my favorite memory of my softball career happened in Tennessee for 2023 Nationals. One game I hit a grand-slam over the fence. The joy that brought me in that moment is the reason I love this game. Softball is not just a sport to me. Every time I pick up a ball, my glove, my bat, put on my cleats or even just step on the field, everything changes. I give softball my 110%. Softball for me is when I truly feel like myself, I give it my all and show my passion for the sport every time I am on the field. No matter what is going on in my life and I know I can feel like myself when I’m playing softball. My dream is to be able to walk on a college field and feel the indescribable joy I know can be waiting for me.
