Personal Statement

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.

I consider myself very athletic.  I am five foot two and weigh 130 pounds.  Over the last few months, I have really improved my foot speed and still receive training from Athletic Republic.

My most important accomplishments include maintaining a high GPA in High School, representing my school as a cellist at the Illinois Music Educators Conference two years in a row, making all-state for cello my Sophomore year and Junior year my acceptance to the National Honor Society and my recently becoming President of the National Honor Society.

I have always tried to lead by example no matter what I do.  I feel lucky to have what I have and disagree with one not giving their best effort in everything they do.  With regards to softball,  I always try to stay in the game, cheer on my teammates and work hard.  My travel coaches have often said that I am the hardest working player on the team.  My travel team doesn't give awards, but I was given the coaches award for hustle in my last year (2009) of park district softball.  My parents have instilled in me the need to be polite and respectful to people.  Their advice has proven true and the use of "please" and "thank you" does go a long way.

My dream is to play softball anywhere that I can succeed as a student and as an athlete and help my team to succeed.  I really have no limitations on where I would play if the right opportunity were to present itself.

With regards to my desired major, I know that music will be a part of my studies and I have thought about studying Health, Law, and History, but I am not decided on a major.

I truly believe that with so many colleges in the United States, that there is a place for me somewhere.  I try hard to keep A's in all my classes and I hope that I am able to find a place that appreciates that hard work and my hard work on the field.  I continue to improve and hope to keep improving throughout my high school career.  I realize that I am far from the best softball player looking to play somewhere, but hopefully I am one of the better players who has a very high grade point average and is an accomplished cellist.

Thank you again, Baylie Petit

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
