Hello I am Sandra Jones and I am from Midland high school. I have been playing softball since sixth grade. Softball is a place where I can just be myself without being judged by others softball makes me really happy because I’m good at it softball is my home and I don’t know where I would be without it I have had people tell me I wouldn’t go anywhere in softball and I’m not good enough to make it to a college and they told me I would never be on a travel ball team and look where I’m at now. I’ll play for the 18 you MID ILLNI BANDITS. I have also played on the 18 Washington impact. The coaches I have now have pushed me to be the best. I would never see myself coming this far in softball a couple years ago. I finally started to feel the love for softball. I didn’t know what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be but I know one thing if I didn’t have softball, I wouldn’t be here, I have had some family issues I haven’t always had a father figure around my dad left me when I was seven so softball was the one thing that I had going for me at that time in my life even though I didn’t play for a team I played for summer ball team and that felt really great cause I knew I had practices and I could get away from home. My life hasn’t been the easiest, but without softball, I wouldn’t be who I am today softball brings out and me personally how I can leave my team to victory and the one thing I do have is I lift everyone up even though we could be losing I try to make everyone Happy you’re not gonna play good as a team if everyone’s down because everyone’s attitudes reflect on how everyone plays. Right now I am 17 years old. I have a full-time job right now I am training to be a CNA I am taking my CNA test soon, and hopefully become certified, I have always wanted to go into the medical field because I love taking care of people seeing the smiles on their faces after I do something for them is the most joyful thing I have seen everyone says oh work is boring or work is hard I love going into work because I love my residents I’ve gotten to know each and every single one of them and I love them all helping people is probably one of the most things that makes me happy because when they go to a nursing home they don’t have their family anymore as much as they did and basically we are their family so you should treat them how they should be treated and some people don’t do that so I always try to make them feel special. Give them a hug. Ask them how their day was going. I love working my work ability is so good not trying to brag or anything. I always try to be better and what I do doesn’t matter if it’s softball or my job my grades if someone tells me I can’t do it I try to prove them wrong and do it. My worth ethic is so good I used to be not so good at sports, but I’ve pushed myself to become good if I’m not good at something the first try I will work on that 1 million times to get it to be perfect especially with softball. Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you.
