Personal Statement
My name is Claire Remley, I am currently a 3 sport athlete in High School, I play varsity soccer, varsity basketball and varsity softball. My goal is to continue to play college softball and further my education with a degree in Pediatric Nursing or Child Development. I work very hard to be the best athlete I can be; I don't care for losing, but accept the fact that sometimes it happens. I'm a very competitive person, I work hard and push my teammates to work harder; I expect the best from myself and my teammates each time we take the field or court. Its not only important to be a skilled player but a smart player as well. One who understands the game and knows what to do in situations can mean the difference between winning and losing. My dad, who is a High School Coach has always said, "that finding a way to win is a mind set, not a physical skill. The physical skill required is just the application of a positive mind set." That statement has always stuck with me.
I not only work hard in athletics but in academics as well. I'm an Honors Student with a GPA of 3.9 out of 4.0 and ranked 13th in my class out of 141 students, while taking weighted classes. I also participate in several school clubs.
I don't care to talk about myself; but if I had to characterize myself, I would say that I'm a caring person who put's other before myself. Strong willed with a drive to be the best I can be no matter what I'm doing. I'm not afraid to speak my mind and lead by example to help or encourage someone else. Not afraid to stand up for myself and or others that may be in a unfamiliar situation. I guess I get that from my dad, as he always says to be up front and honest with people even if it sometimes hurts; let people know where you stand.
