Ashley Scudder '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'4"Senior from Shelbyville, Indiana with a GPA of 3.6, a member of National Honor Society, and Student Body Vice-President. I am a four year varsity starter for my high school team, and have played travel ball since I was in fifth grade. My primary position for our High School team this season is starting pitcher. When not on the mound, I will resume my 3rd base position that i have held for the past 3 seasons. My primary position for Travel Ball is 1st. I was an All County Team selection as a freshman, and was also All-Conference Honorable mention that year. I have also lead my teams in doubles, triples and steals. We just finished our 2011 summer travel ball season and I had a pretty good summer season with the Indiana Gators. I finished with a batting average of .345 (2nd on our team), Slugging % of .345, OBPS of .760 (3rd on our team). I split my defensive time between 1B and 3B and finished with a defense % of .959. I was also able to pitch a couple of innings, and gave up 0 hits, 0 runs, and 0 errors. I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and field. I know playing at the college level is like having a full time job, and I am a coachable, dedicated, hard working, competetive athlete willing to accept that responsibility. I would like to pursue a large university with an outstanding academic reputation. I am undecided on my major at this time. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one that offers the opportunity to be a part of a winning team in a large school. I welcome the opportunity to prove my skills and compete for a starting position.
