Personal Statement

The golf course is my home away from home. I've grown up playing golf from a very young age. My step-dad, grandmother, and both grandfather's are avid golfers. The love of the game came naturally to me. I love competing against myself and trying my best to improve every aspect of my game.

I would be an asset to the team because I work hard and am driven to compete with the best. I will always give my all and never give up. I practice everyday and continue to work on the different aspects of the game. Supporting my teammates' success makes me just as happy as when I score well. I respect the game of golf and the discipline that it takes to be successful. As a student, I will always give my full effort to each of my classes. I recognize that being a student is my first responsibility. Playing golf and being a part of a team are so important to me. Both serve as a motivation and stress relief from working hard as a student.

My goal is to compete at the highest level possible. I want to continue to improve upon every aspect of my game. I strive to be a leader and contributor to a successful college team.

Training

  • Short Game
  • 1 year
  • With my training of short game I have seen much improvement in strokes around the green. My chips, rolls, bump and runs have been more accurate and given me a secured up and down. My putting still needs a little work, but my average putting per round is 25-28 putts per round with my strokes being from pulls and just stupid mistakes which comes with time ande patience.
  • Range Time
  • 1 year
  • Lately our coach, Jason has had our team only do range and short game practice rather than play holes and that gives me a lot of time to work on my swing and work on various different shots that are in my bag. For example if I pull one into/under trees and I have a very little opening, I will practice my low punch shots or stingers for a certain percent of our practice in order to get dialed in on everything and trust my swing more and more.

Additional Sports

  • Soccer
  • 8 years
  • Varsity Team
  • I was on half jv, half varsity my sophomore year and a little of my freshman year. I played in ECNL before quitting to pursue golf and the fact that i just couldn’t commit to it, it was way to expensive and too time consuming.
