Laken Lienhard '20 Recruiting Profile

I have been interested in softball for as long as I can remember. Some

of my favorite summer memories include following my dad around to his

ball games, cheering him and his team on while playing my own ‘made

up’ games with my little weekend softball friends. My interest

continued to escalate as I started to play my own games and joined my

first club team. I met girls and families that had the same drive,

desire, and passion for the game that I had. We continue to push each

other to be the best that we can be. I will consider them to be

lifelong friends and together we have accomplished and will continue

to accomplish great things, on and off the field. One of my

highlights that I share with my club team is going 26-0 during a

strong fall season and winning State, but most of all it was the

quality time spent every weekend with my teammates and their families.

I am also fortunate enough to be part of a growing and successful

high school program. I started my high school varsity career after my

8th grade year, and with the help of my leadership and strong work

ethic, I feel I have helped my team grow and improve. My freshman

year showed many successes; we beat the number one team in our

conference, and we also upset a ranked team to advance to the regional

finals. Although our season ended just short of the state tournament,

it was still an effective season because we learned a lot about our

team and that it’s going to take commitment, leadership, teamwork and

hard work in the off season in order to get our team to the next

level. We can achieve a lot together.

I have a strong work ethic, am extremely competitive, and have a high

understanding, appreciation and love of the game. I am a 3 sport

athlete that gives 110% in everything I do. I am looking for a type of

program and feel like I could immediately benefit a program that

shares my same characteristics.
