Personal Statement
I am looking for a college in the Midwest that will support me academically, as well as athletically. My participation in softball and track has been influential in my life and I enjoy helping people, therefore I would like to concentrate my studies in a field associated with exercise science/medicine and physical therapy. I have an interest in assisting people recovering from injuries, seeing their progress and helping them meet their personal goals. I am willing to look at schools further from home if the tuition is within my family’s budget. I would prefer to play for a school where my skills can be utilized early in my college career versus a school where it may take a couple of years to get on the field.
Softball has been a prominent part of my life, and it has made me into the person I am today. I believe that a team player needs to put in the work to be a consistent contributor to the team's success. That is why I constantly push myself to refine my skills by spending extra practice time to improve my hitting and pitching performance . I am also frequently looking for new techniques to maximize my time and improve my execution. By doing these things, I try to lead by example but also use what I learn to help my teammates improve their performance. I appreciate feedback to improve how I play within the team and I work hard to be a positive leader on and off of the field. I love softball because it has brought great people into my life and coaches that push me to excel in both academics and athletics. Without their influence and exceptional coaching, I would not be where I am today. I believe being a part of a softball team in college will allow me to continue to learn, adapt and grow in the next phase of my education and life and I am excited to see where this journey takes me.
