Personal Statement
I am a 5’3’’utility/pitcher from Olin, Iowa. I graduate in the year 2023 from North Cedar High School in Clarence, Iowa. I play on the varsity softball team at North Cedar High School. In the off season, I play for Eastern Iowa Barracudas and Quad City Angels travel softball teams. Softball has been a prominent part of my life, and it has made me into the person I am today. I believe that a team player needs to put in the work to be a consistent contributor to the team's success. That is why I consistently push myself to refine my skills, spend extra practice time improving my hitting and pitching performance . I am also frequently looking for new techniques to maximize my time and improve my execution. I love softball because it has brought great people into my life that push me to excel in both academics and athletics like Jake and Sharon Schumann. Without their influence and exceptional coaching, I would not be where I am today.
I am looking for a college that will support me academically, as well as athletically. My participation in softball and track has been influential in my life and I enjoy helping people, therefore I would like to concentrate my studies in a field associated with exercise science/medicine and physical therapy. I have an interest in assisting people recovering from injuries, seeing their progress and helping them meet their personal goals. I am willing to look at schools further from home if the tuition is within my family’s budget. I would prefer to play for a school where my skills can be utilized early in my college career versus a school where it may take a couple of years to get on the field.
