Mattie McKenna '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mattie McKenna, a 2027 pitcher/utility. I play softball at Oak Forest Academy and have played on the varsity team as a pitcher since seventh grade. I also play soccer at Oak Forrest Academy and have played on the varsity soccer team since fifth grade.  I quickly realized that softball was the sport that I was made to play, and I am determined to work hard to achieve my dream to play softball at the collegiate level.  Softball has been a big part of my life, and it has made me into the person I am today.  I love softball because it has always pushed me to work harder to be a better person.  

I am looking for a college that will support me academically as well as on the field.  The business field really interests me andwould like to make that my focus as that will help me down a path to pursue a promising career.  I have always seen myself as a successful person, and I aspire to own my own company one day. I would prefer to attend a college in my home state, but I am willing to travel a further distance.  

Determined, intellectual, coachable, and driven is how I like to sum myself up.  I consider myself a true student of the game.  I know that games are not won with just one person, but with the whole team.  You will not only be recruiting an elite athlete, but you will also be recruiting an elite student that will represent your team and university well in all aspects!
