I have been playing baseball and softball since I was in Kindergarten. I love the competitiveness, the team spirit, and the hard work that makes a team play better and win. I play on my high school varsity team and on a travel team. The teams are very different. My high school team has many players who are new to the game. I love to work with them to help them improve throughout our season. Supporting your teammates is a very important part of the game. I think a positive attitude rubs off of the other players and helps lift the girls to a higher level.
I know that you have to balance sports and academics. I work very hard to keep my grades up and participate in programs that help make LuHI stand out in the community. It is especially important to me because I’d like to show the college representatives that I am focused on all parts of my life.
My dream has always been to play softball at the university that I attend. I think that the privilege to do this would make my college years be everything I’ve been working for. My academic interests in college will be a combination of Sports Management and Pre-Law. My goal is to become a sports attorney. I think this is an area of the law that is exciting and is always necessary.
I recognize the importance of studying hard and making time for your studies. I also recognize the importance of keeping your body strong. I believe a strong body, through regular workouts, is not only good for your physical health but really important for your mental health. I have had a strong academic record, but through the years my teachers have all commented that they are also impressed by my willingness to always lend a hand and to be helpful to others in and out of the classroom. That makes me proud, and I know I will always try to be that person. I would like the college that I attend to see that I am the person they are looking for to represent their values in academics, in sports, and in character.
