Personal Statement

I have played and loved softball since I was 7 years old. I didn't start out catching but was asked to one day by my coach and  I have caught ever since. Over the years I realized the importance of being versatile on the field and have learned how to play 1st and 3rd base just as well. While learning to play softball I have also learned how to be a leader, a team player and that it is important to be coachable. My dad taught me this. My dad was my coach for many years and is still my coach off the field.  My parents have both worked hard to help me achieve my goals of playing ball in college as well as becoming a nurse.  I have known since I was a little girl that I wanted to be a NICU nurse. My youngest brother was born early and was in the NICU for a few weeks which started my love for babies and helping others. Over the years of helping my dad with lessons and clinics, I have found a passion for coaching. I hope to one day use my skills gained from playing ball and being a leader to coach a softball team on some level.

I have had to work really hard over the years to be competitive academically. I have dyslexia and figuring out how I learn best and learning to push through when things are difficult or when I didn't believe in myself, have helped me in so many areas of my life. Having to work harder then most around me in school has also made me work extra hard on the field and push myself to become a better athlete and team member. I believe learning to work through these adversities make me a strong recruit to have on your team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
