Hunter Morgan '23 Recruiting Profile

I have loved this game ever since I was two years old and my dad took me to his own softball tournament. I started playing T-ball at age three, and switched to softball at age eight. Since then, my love for the game has only grown deeper. I am currently a junior  and a starter for Burns High School. On my travel team, Diamond Dawgs, I am the starting third baseman and cleanup hitter. I also play in the recreational league at my local city park and for Post 82, an American Legion softball team. 

     Softball has taught me many life lessons, and the friendships I have made with my teammates will last a lifetime. It has taught me how to work as a team in order to achieve our goals. It has taught me to be a leader, even if I am the youngest on the field. Most importantly, it has shown me how hard work truly pays off. I make sure I’m always the first person on the field and the last person to leave. Due to that work ethic, I was able to become a starter as a freshman. I was also part of the state runner-up All-Stars team in 2018, and my travel team placed third in the 2018 Winter World Series. 

     My work ethic has also transitioned into the classroom. Throughout elementary and middle school, I struggled to stay on track with my grade level academically. But due to hard work, I am now placed in honors classes as a freshman. There’s no doubt in my mind that softball will continue to teach me and push me to be successful on and off the field.
