Coaches out there looking at my page. I have been playing softball for 14 years now, and am hoping to continue playing for as long as I can. Softball is my life, my mother played softball for over 20 years and was my coach for 8 years. Not only am I wanting to go to college to play softball even though that is a huge part but I also want to become a RN in the future. Which I also have the military in mind.
I am from a very small town in Oregon and am graduating from a 1a school but that does not stop me from trying to get recruited. My freshman year I went to North Eugene High School and played on the varsity team as a starter. I have literally played every position many times, but the three that I played the most was catcher, pitcher, and my main position is shortstop. Plus being the faster one the team was nice, I have stole more bases that I lost track. Then I moved to Marcola, how did not have a team for 13 years, I tried getting a team started my sophomore but just did not have enough time to get enough girls, then my junior year, I managed to not give up and try again. I finally got enough girls and even though we have never won a game within the two years because I was playing with a bunch of girls that did not ever touch a ball, I still was able to be the team leader and keep my head up even when it was hard. Being captain for two years was awesome! But according to my teachers I have always been a natural leader. When I got down, my whole team got down, so I had to learn that even though it is tough to not get mad and just shake that play off and start fresh, I came to us as a team that we could do better than what we are doing. I was the loudest one on the team too and since I was more experience, I had to step up my game and be the loud one and talk to the girls. I was what my coaches call ¨the coach on the field¨. My coaches at time wanted to give up because of the way the girls were acting at moments but like they told me. If it was not for me being on the team, they would have plugged the plug a long time ago. Oh and guess what? I got 1st all league this year. I am very proud of the player I have become and am hoping to continue my skills and keep improving as much as I can, since I am very coach-able and is willing to learn new skills.
