Personal Statement

My collegiate goals are to become successful and I have set high expectations for myself. Mainly, my classes come first because that is what's going to determine my future; playing softball is an added bonus. Softball has become more and more important to me throughout the years, and I never want to stop playing. I want to excel academically as well as out on the field. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to be a veterinarian, and once I set my mind to something, nothing can stop me. I want to major in Biology because that is the subject that always has interested me, and it will get me into a great veterinarian school after I get my Bachelor's degree in Biology.

I can make a great candidate for a team because I mesh with all personalities and I am eager to learn. I can accomplish anything I put my mind to and I adjust to different coaching or playing techniques. I'm always looking to be better, on the field as well as in classroom. I gladly take on leadership roles from the time I started playing until now. I never stop trying to be better, no matter where I am. I love softball, I love everything about it. No matter if I'm striking out or striking someone else out, I'm always trying to improve. My learning capabilities have gotten me to where I am today. I love to learn new things. I like to know what everyone else knows and I like to challenge myself by taking tougher courses. I am always looking to be one step ahead of everyone else. This is why I differ from most, if not all other recruits.

  • Softball Factory - College Prep Evaluation
  • 4/10/16 to 4/10/16
  • 04/10/2016 - College PREP - Manheim (Harrisburg) , PA Kylie is 2018 SS/RHP with a solid skill set. At the plate she sees the ball very well and has quick hands. She has a good lower half that allows her to drive the ball along with her good bat speed. By working on her balance it will allow her to become even more dangerous at the plate. At SS she is a high-energy player who takes good angles on ground balls and has a quick release. By controlling her body a little, it will allow her to have the composure to be a solid presence at SS. On the mound, Kylie has a good arm with her drop ball being her best pitch. Her fastball is sharp, tight, and over the plate. By working on her release on her change-up she'll see more consistency in the pitch. Overall, Kylie is a player who is very coachable with lots of potential. She impressed our scouts with her personality and abilities.
  • Camp/Event
  • USSSA 2015 B State Champions - 16U
  • 7/11/15 to 7/12/15
  • Black Widows 16U went undefeated throughout tournament. Won State Championship. Qualifying for National World Series.
  • Camp/Event
  • Softball Factory College World Series Select Training
  • 5/28/15 to 5/31/15
  • 05/28/2015 - College World Series Select Training Kylie continues to show improvements in her game. In the box Kylie uses a square stance with good balance and fluid rhythm. She has an activated load, takes a direct route to the ball and generates good bat speed. Kylie makes hard consistent contact and does a nice job of extending through the hitting zone. She does a nice job of working up the middle of the field and has gap-to-gap power potential. Creating a weight transfer in her swing will allow Kylie to engage more of her lower half and see that increase in power production. At SS, Kylie is an athletic player who works hard for her team. She uses efficient footwork in her approach to the ball, presents her glove well and fields with soft/sure hands. She works to play through the ball and gains momentum to her target. Kylie uses a good arm slot and is able to make accurate throws with carry. As she continues to strengthen her backhand glove work, she will become even more of a threat to runners that are able to hit deep to the 5/6 hole. Overall, Kylie has the tools needed to play at the collegiate level and with continued hard work she will have the opportunity to do so.

  • 1/17/14 to 1/20/14
  • 01/17/2014 - Softball Factory Spring Training at Vero Beach Kylie is a young, evolving SS with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, she has an athletic fielding position with soft hands and active footwork. Working on moving through the ball after fielding will help to improve transfer time on the throw. Overall, she makes plays and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses a hands back load with a short stride and keeps her balanced centered before making contact with a smooth rhythm. She shows potential for power and will benefit from an explosive lower half to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Kylie is eager and passionate about the game and has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
