Being a sophmore, my softball career is just beginning. However, I have been playing softball from the age of eight and through the years began to further my game by playing more competitive ball. My very first experience as being a travel ball player was with a team that was just forming. My passion and interest was catching, but my team needed me on the field to be their shortstop. My team at the time was struggling- we had many hardships and losses. This only made me a better player in the end. I learned to put the team first, to push through the losses, and to be a leader on the team. These early years taught me to be a more well-rounded player that can play multiple positions.
Through years of continuous hard work, I’ve earned a spot on an established and successful softball team back to playing the position I love- being a catcher. Last year my team placed second in the World Series at Myrtle Beach, and the previous two years we have placed third overall. I myself was also previously named an elite player and was selected to play with talented athletes from all over the United States in an All American tournament located in Florida. In the long run, I am looking for a program that fits me both academically and athletically. I am a team-player with a strong work ethic both in the classroom and on the field. I believe that I have all the qualities that will make an amazing student athlete for your program!
