Emma Heckendorn '25 Recruiting Profile

My coaches always say that I am the toughest player on the field, and they are correct! I not only have the physical toughness, but mentally also. I have true determination and passion for the game that rubs off onto my teammates. I encourage them when they are down and congratulate them when they succeed. Being a team leader is easy for me, I can bring a defeated team back into the game within minutes. I am extremely lighthearted and love to joke around, pulling the team out of that slump that they mentally fell into. I keep a positive attitude at all times. Being soft and quiet is not for me, I am the loudest player on the field, and I learned from being a catcher, that you have to be loud to be heard and they hear me! Everyone needs encouragement and that extra boost prior to every single play, and I provide that. I may not be the most athletic player on the field, but I am the better candidate, because I give 110% at all times whether it be game time, practice, or whatever I set my mind to do. This is how I have earned my starter positions in high school and select ball. In the classroom, my teachers, coaches, and mentors have told me the same. They love having me as a student and tell me daily to set my goals high and I will achieve them all. I enjoy being coached and learning from my mistakes to improve my skills on and off the field. Goals have been for my life to become a registered nurse and patient advocate for my future patients. I want to go to bed every night knowing that I did my best and that I made a difference in this world.
