Raelyn Mancias '27 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'5 pitcher/utility player from Pharr, Texas. My graduation year is 2027 and I attend Raul Yzaguirre Middle School.  Softball has had a big influence on my life and has shaped me into who I am as a person and athlete.  I love softball because of the energy and the enviornment that it presents and it is always reliable when I need it. Ever since I was little, I loved to play softball and has always been one of my favorite things to do, but as the years passed softball has become an even bigger love in my life because of its now active competitive quality and challenges. I have been described as a hard-worker and a silent leader by former coaches, as I lead by example on the field and in the classroom. I have always been someone who gets the job done without complaining and is hungry for another challenge to compete. I believe that these qualities have been instilled in me by playing softball and I would not be who I am without it. Softball has taught me to be resilient, hard-working, competitive, aggressive, and dedicated. It has made me face pressure and hardship and has made me stronger and tougher in character that not only will help me now but in life in general .

In addition to softball, academics is also very important to me. I take school very seriously and have had the honor to take AP classes such as Geometry and Spanish as an 8th grader. I am currently the National Junior Honor Society President at my campus and participate in other extracurricular activities aside from softball at my campus as well. I plan to take as many rigorous courses as possible in order to higher my class rank once I get to high school. I currently hold the highest GPA and class ranking in my whole campus with a 99.9/100. Aside from softball, I also balance other extracurricular activities such as orchestra and book club to name a few. 

I want to attend a university that will able to support me academically and in softball. My interest is in the medical field and plan to choose this as my major. I want to be able to play on the field as soon as possible and showcase my talent as best as I can.  I want to be able to play at a competitive university and will work my hardest to get where I need to be to achieve this goal.

I am both a strong academic and athletic candidate who is described as dedicated, hard-working, coachable, a fierce competitor, team player, and focused on being the best I can be and would be a great asset to any university in all aspects as a student/athlete.
