Personal Statement
The best way for me to describe how I feel about playing the game of softball is to say that it is a strong passion. When I put the glove on my hand and step on the field, with my team, I forget about everything else and play the game I love. Nothing that is going on in the outside world matters when I cross the chalk. I want to keep this outlet open and continue to compete at the highest level possible.
I have so much to offer a team. My first priority is to be a good teammate. I feel the success of a team relies on the selflessness of it's players and the support that we provide to each other. I will bring confidence in my ability to help my teammates to feel empowered and strong in order for us all to grow as players together. I can also bring speed and versatility to put pressure on our opponents. I can play outfield, pitch and base run with the best of players. I am also working to bring a big bat to the plate and catch players off guard. I pride myself on knowledge of the game and push myself to beat my personal best at every opportunity.
The perfect college fit for me would have to be a school that is in or near Texas. The college softball team should be comprised of coaches and athletes that push each other to compete at the highest level possible. The academics need to be a priority as well. I want to major in Biology and go into the medical field. Like softball, I want a degree that helps me to compete beyond college. If I can find a college that meets these requirements then I know that I will have found a place I can call my second home.
