Personal Statement
I am in the class of 2022 and currently a senior at Cedar Ridge high school in Round Rock, Texas. At this present time, I run cross country, as well as track & field. My work ethic, dedication and hard-working attitude sets me apart from the competition. I was born in Seattle, Washington and moved to Round Rock, Texas when I was in 4th grade.
My academics are my top priority and grades always come first. As of today, my GPA is a 3.33 unweighted and a 4.02 on the weighted scale with a rank of 263/696 in my graduating class. Since my sophomore year, I have been a National Honor Society member and participate in DECA. I am actively in a advanced class of students who help and mentor peers called PALs (Peer Assistance and Leadership). Apart from school, I work, swim, hike and mountain bike.
My current personal bests are 4:23 in the 1600m, 9:35 for the 3200, 1:59 in the 800m and 15:47 for the 5k. My goals for this upcoming 2021-2022 track season is to break 4:15 for the mile and break 9:20 for the 3200.
For my Cross Country 2021-2022 season (senior year), I achieved my athletic goal by receiving a 3rd place medal in the 6A District Meet, placing 6th place overall at the 6A Regional Meet (time 15:55) in Corpus Christi, Texas and qualifying for the 6A Texas State meet, then placing 29th overall with a season PR of 15:52. Academically, I was also awarded a certificate for All-Districts Academic Honors and All-State Academic Honorable Mention.
